QuBe integrates refugees

29.04.2016

In the newly released BIBB data report for the “Berufsbildungsbericht 2016” the QuBe Consortium (www.qube-projekt.de) presents first results regarding the development of the population and selected sectors taking into account the number of refugees (S. 268 ff). For the QuBe population projection inflows of asylum seekers were explicitly modelled using a "refugee-module".

The household structure and the composition and amount of private consumption will change due to the refugee migration. Irrespective of the long-term refugee-household specific income labour demand in certain economic sectors will increase. More results can be found (in German language) in the BIBB data report (pp.276 ff.).

The QuBe project is being run under the joint leadership of the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB) and the Institute for Labour Market and Career Research (IAB) in collaboration with the Institute of Economic Structures Research (GWS) and the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Information Technology (FIT). It provides a long-term overview of the likely development of labour demand and supply in terms of qualifications and occupations.
