Anja Sonnenburg studied economics at the University of Applied Sciences Bremen and at the University of Hertfordshire (UK) and completed a Master's programme in Social Research at the University of Bremen. After graduating, she was employed by Prognos AG as part of a graduate internship.
Since January 2014, she has been working at GWS in the area of "Economy and Social Affairs". Her areas of responsibility include the empirical study of industries and labour markets at both national and regional level.
Anja Sonnenburg is particularly responsible for sector analyses of industry as well as the IT economy. In the field of labour market research, she analyses employment structures as well as developments on the personnel side and methodologically deals both quantitatively with the development of indicators and data sets as well as qualitatively with the development of background knowledge from experts.
