Industry 4.0: Digital progress in production accelerates the restructuring of the labour market
Within the QuBe project (qualifications and occupations in the future, www.qube-project.de) IAB, BIBB and GWS analysed the impact of Industry 4.0 on the labour market and the economy. The impact analysis was conducted by means of the model QINFORGE which is based on the macro-econometric model INFORGE. The results show that the structural change accelerates the growing importance of services. Additionally, the shifts in employment between occupations and economic sectors are bigger than the changes in overall employment.
