Loreto Bieritz holds a degree in Regional Studies of Latin America from the University of Cologne. During her studies abroad in 1997, she deepened her skills in Public Affairs at the University of Chile in Santiago de Chile.

Between 2000 and 2002, she was working as a personal advisor for the Greens’ federal board in Berlin, followed by an occupational activity as an information manager at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP) in Berlin for the research areas North and Latin America as well as for the EU’s Economic Policy.

Since November 2008, she is a researcher at GWS in the division of Economic and Social Affairs. Within the project of sector analysis and forecasting, she is in charge of the project management as well as of the analysis of the real estate sector, logistics and business services. Since October 2016, she participates in a joint research project on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research concerning the “Development of Sustainable Mining Strategies in Chile with a Regionalized National Model“.
