The main research areas of GWS concentrate on but are not limited to Energy and environmentModel-based analysis of topical questions related to energy and climate change or environmental economics, e.g. increasing energy prices, evaluation of energy and climate policy instruments or promotion of renewable energies. Labour market & demographicsAnalysis of key factors and developments in the labour market. This field combines projection of labour demand by industrial sectors with the influences of demographic change on labour supply. Industrial developmentEvaluation of industrial performance in the short-, medium- and long-term and of linkages between domestic and foreign industries. Sustainable developmentAnalysis of the development of sustainability indicators and projection of their future development, measurement of welfare and green economy development. Regional developmentGWS also has tools for regional analysis such as LAENDER, or REGIO. In supplementing the GWS macroeco-nomic forecasting models by these tools, it is possible to evaluate expected regional and sector specific developments. Data systems and servicesEstablishing and using databanks based on large datasets. Performing cross-section analysis and implementation of satellite accounts for economic and social cross-section activities. |
